TEACHERS MEETING .

Making a Documentary: from the Idea to the Final Edition

First day: (December 8) -  Meeting together, getting to know each other. Tourist tour around the city.

2nd, 3rd, 4th day (December 9-10-11)

Film making workshop. We have a great story idea for a documentary but need professional help and ideas about how to pursue it. With an expert filmmaker we will work topics from the type of camera we can use and how we are going to edit our film.

We will work on the idea and dream up a visual story. We will expand the idea into a story by thinking about characters, action, and ending with a resolution to the story. The aesthetics of the film is extremely important in the filming process because a movie is all visual, and our film will be shot in different countries and under different circumstances.

About the methodology, we will have 3 sessions of 3 hours each session. They will be afternoon sessions.
  • First session. The idea. Development of the idea, the script. Starting to work with our idea of the documentary about Refugees. The basic ideas that will be handled will have been previously agreed through the eTwinning platform.
  • Second session. Storyboard. How to develop a script for a documentary. Choosing sceneries and characters. They will not be actors and actresses. They are refugees.
  • Third session. From the idea to the implementation. Types of recommended equipment for an optimal result. The expected results of the activity are related to the training that teachers will receive about the work process.

It should be clear that in these 9 hours of training the project will not be carried out, that is, the film. The expert will guide the teachers on how they should work with the students.

It is very important that the participants understand that each part of the work will form a final whole. All participants must give their ideas for the writing of the script. The teachers will show their points of view and will approach positions on the keys of the project, all under the supervision of the expert who will weigh pros and cons of the ideas presented.
